NAMI Detroit offers support groups and educational programs for individuals and families affected by mental illness in the Wayne County and greater Detroit area. Their programs include NAMI Connection Recovery Support Groups for individuals, Family Support Groups for caregivers, and over 19 different programs addressing various aspects of mental health and recovery.
What to Expect
Support groups are peer-led by trained NAMI facilitators with lived experience. Family Support Groups meet monthly and provide a safe space for caregivers to share challenges, learn effective support strategies, and connect with others who understand. Connection groups focus on individual recovery, coping skills, and mutual support. All groups follow NAMI’s evidence-based structured format.
