Survivors of Suicide Loss Support – AFSP Alabama – Gardendale
About This Group
The AFSP Alabama Chapter provides support for people who have lost someone to suicide. Through survivor support groups, community walks, and the annual International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day, AFSP Alabama connects people affected by suicide loss with compassionate peers and evidence-based resources for healing. Specialized groups are available for parents, siblings, spouses, children, and LGBTQIA+ survivors.
What to Expect
Suicide loss survivor support groups provide a safe, confidential space to share grief with others who have experienced a similar loss. AFSP also offers Healing Conversations — a program connecting individual survivors with trained volunteers who have personal experience with suicide loss. Community Out of the Darkness Walks bring the survivor community together for advocacy and healing.
