The Alzheimer’s Association Oregon and Southwest Washington Chapter provides free support groups for caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, as well as support for individuals in the early stages of the disease. With groups available across the Portland metro area and statewide via phone and video, the Alzheimer’s Association offers a lifeline for families navigating the challenges of dementia caregiving.
What to Expect
Alzheimer’s Association support groups are led by trained facilitators who understand the unique challenges of dementia caregiving. Groups provide a confidential space to share experiences, exchange practical caregiving strategies, learn about disease progression and management, and find emotional support from others who truly understand. Groups are available in-person, by phone, and by video to accommodate different needs. The ALZConnected online community offers additional connection between meetings.
