About This Group
Narcotics Anonymous (NA) Mid Missouri Area provides peer support meetings for individuals recovering from drug addiction throughout central Missouri, including Columbia, Jefferson City, Sedalia, and surrounding communities. NA is a nonprofit fellowship of men and women for whom drugs have become a major problem. Members meet regularly to help each other stay clean through sharing their experience, strength, and hope in a supportive, judgment-free environment.
What to Expect
NA meetings typically last 60 to 90 minutes and follow various formats including open discussion, speaker meetings, step study, and literature study. Open meetings welcome anyone interested in learning about NA, while closed meetings are for individuals who identify as addicts. Meetings follow the 12-step recovery framework and emphasize peer support. New attendees are welcomed warmly and are not required to speak. Many meetings provide newcomer chips and can connect new members with sponsors.
