About This Group

NAMI Southeast Louisiana (NAMI SELA) serves nine parishes across southeast Louisiana with peer-led support groups, educational programs, and advocacy. With campuses in New Orleans (Mid-City) and Mandeville (St. Tammany), NAMI SELA provides accessible mental health support across the greater New Orleans metropolitan area.

What to Expect

NAMI SELA offers Connection groups for individuals with mental health conditions and Family Support Groups for loved ones and caregivers. Meetings are facilitated by trained peers and provide confidential, judgment-free environments for sharing and mutual support. Educational programs like Family-to-Family and Peer-to-Peer provide in-depth learning about mental health management. With two campuses, meetings are conveniently accessible from multiple areas of southeast Louisiana.

NAMI Southeast Louisiana is one of Louisiana’s most active NAMI affiliates, serving Jefferson, Livingston, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Helena, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, and Washington parishes. Their dual-campus model ensures broad geographic coverage, and their comprehensive programs address the needs of both individuals and families affected by mental illness.
