About NAMI Spokane

NAMI Spokane is the Spokane-area affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, serving individuals and families affected by mental illness in eastern Washington’s largest city. The chapter provides free peer-led support groups, education programs, and advocacy to help reduce the stigma of mental illness and ensure that Spokane-area residents have access to mental health peer support and resources.

What Groups Are Offered?

NAMI Spokane offers NAMI Connection Recovery Support Groups for adults with mental health conditions and NAMI Family Support Groups for family members and caregivers. Educational programs include Family-to-Family and Peer-to-Peer courses. Groups are facilitated by trained volunteers with personal lived experience. Both in-person and virtual options are available.

Who Can Join?

NAMI programs are open to anyone affected by mental health conditions. Connection groups welcome adults (18+) living with mental health conditions; Family groups serve loved ones and caregivers. No diagnosis, referral, or insurance is required.

What to Expect

NAMI support groups are structured, confidential peer gatherings lasting 60–90 minutes. Trained facilitators guide supportive discussions. There is no pressure to speak—listening is always welcome. New attendees are warmly welcomed.

All programs are completely free. Strict confidentiality is maintained—what is shared in the group stays in the group.
