About This Group

The Tri-County Intergroup of Alcoholics Anonymous serves the Charleston tri-county area (Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester counties) with hundreds of weekly AA meetings. As a peer-led 12-step fellowship, AA provides a supportive community where individuals seeking recovery from alcohol use disorder can share their experience, strength, and hope with one another.

What to Expect

AA meetings follow the traditional 12-step format and come in several varieties including open discussion, speaker meetings, Big Book study, and step study groups. Meetings are led by volunteer members in recovery and typically last 60 minutes. New members are warmly welcomed, and there is no pressure to speak — listening is always an option. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking.
