About This Group

Cherokee Nation Behavioral Health Services provides comprehensive mental health and substance use treatment across multiple locations throughout northeastern Oklahoma’s Cherokee Nation territory. Offering outpatient therapy, psychiatry, medication-assisted treatment, the HERO Project for children and youth, Circle of Security parenting programs, harm reduction services, and prevention programs, Cherokee Nation Behavioral Health serves tribal members and other Native Americans with culturally responsive care.

What to Expect

Cherokee Nation Behavioral Health provides culturally informed treatment that honors Native American traditions while incorporating evidence-based clinical practices. Services include individual and group therapy, psychiatric evaluation and medication management, medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for substance use disorders, the HERO Project serving children birth through age 21, the Circle of Security parenting program, harm reduction services, and community prevention programs. The program was the first tribal nation to receive a SAMHSA harm-reduction syringe grant.
