International OCD Foundation – West Virginia Virtual Support
About This Group
The International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) connects West Virginia residents living with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder to virtual support groups, educational resources, and peer communities. Because specialized OCD treatment providers can be limited in rural areas of West Virginia, the IOCDF’s virtual programming bridges the gap by offering evidence-based support accessible from anywhere in the state. Groups are facilitated by trained volunteers and mental health professionals who understand the unique challenges of living with OCD.
Groups Offered
- OCD Virtual Support Group: Online peer support for adults living with OCD, featuring structured discussions about managing symptoms, exposure and response prevention (ERP) strategies, and coping with daily challenges
- OCD & Related Disorders Education Series: Webinars and workshops covering hoarding disorder, body dysmorphic disorder, trichotillomania, and other OCD-spectrum conditions
- Family & Friends Support: Virtual groups for loved ones of people with OCD, offering education on how to support recovery without enabling rituals
Who Can Join
Open to all West Virginia residents affected by OCD or related disorders, including individuals diagnosed with OCD, their family members, and caregivers. No formal diagnosis is required to participate in peer support groups. All ages welcome, with separate programming available for teens and young adults.
Meeting Schedule
Virtual support groups meet weekly and biweekly on varying days and times. Check the IOCDF website for the current schedule of online groups and upcoming webinars. Annual OCD Conference held each summer features workshops and networking opportunities.

What to Expect
Virtual groups are held via secure video conferencing platforms. New participants are welcomed warmly and given an orientation to group norms. The atmosphere is supportive and non-judgmental, with an emphasis on evidence-based approaches like ERP therapy.
Cost & Confidentiality
Most IOCDF virtual support groups are offered free of charge. Some specialized workshops or conference events may have registration fees, with scholarships available for those with financial need. All participants are expected to maintain confidentiality regarding what is shared in group sessions. The IOCDF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
