Narcotics Anonymous – United Wasatch Area (Salt Lake City, UT)
About Narcotics Anonymous – United Wasatch Area
The United Wasatch Area of Narcotics Anonymous (UWANA) serves the greater Wasatch Front region of Utah, coordinating NA meetings across Salt Lake City, Ogden, Provo, and surrounding communities. NA is a peer-led fellowship of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. Through the twelve-step program, members support one another in recovery from addiction regardless of the specific substance used.
What Groups Are Offered?
UWANA coordinates dozens of weekly meetings across the Wasatch Front in formats including open discussion, step study, speaker meetings, literature study, and newcomer-focused sessions. Meetings are available throughout the week at various times, from early morning through late evening. Special interest meetings, including women’s and men’s meetings, are offered at select locations.
Who Can Join?
The only requirement for NA membership is a desire to stop using drugs. There are no age, substance-specific, or background requirements. Open meetings welcome anyone interested in learning about NA, while closed meetings are for those who identify as addicts. NA welcomes individuals regardless of which substances they have used.
Meeting Schedule & Location
Meetings are held daily at churches, community centers, and recovery facilities throughout Salt Lake City, Ogden, Provo, and surrounding areas. A complete meeting directory with times, addresses, and formats is available on the UWANA website.

What to Expect
NA meetings are supportive, anonymous gatherings where members share their experience with addiction and recovery. Meetings typically last about one hour. Newcomers are warmly welcomed and there is no pressure to speak. The atmosphere is non-judgmental and focused on recovery through mutual support.
Cost & Confidentiality
All NA meetings are free. A voluntary collection helps cover room rental and literature costs, but there is no obligation to contribute. Anonymity is a core principle—members use first names only and everything shared in meetings remains confidential.
