About This Group
The Grief & Loss Processing Circle at Pathways Trauma & Recovery Center provides a trauma-informed therapeutic space for adults who are grieving the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or any significant loss that has profoundly impacted their life. Pathways’ grief-specialized clinicians understand that grief can be traumatic in itself, and that many people carry unprocessed grief that affects their mental health, relationships, and daily functioning long after the loss occurred.

What to Expect
This ongoing group meets weekly for 90-minute sessions in Pathways’ warm, nature-inspired group room. Sessions are process-oriented, meaning that the content flows from what participants bring each week rather than following a fixed curriculum. Facilitators weave in grief psychoeducation, somatic awareness, art therapy exercises, and mindfulness practices as appropriate. Participants are invited to share at their own pace — listening is as valued as speaking. The group holds space for all types of grief, including disenfranchised grief (losses that society doesn’t always recognize or validate).

Who It’s For
Adults (18+) who are grieving any significant loss — death of a loved one, miscarriage or infant loss, end of a marriage or relationship, loss of health or ability, estrangement from family, or any loss that feels unresolved. There is no timeline for grief — people join this group weeks, months, or years after their loss.
