Rocky Mountain Over the Hill Gang — Outdoor & Social Activities for Adults 50+ (Colorado Statewide)

About This Group
The Rocky Mountain Over the Hill Gang is a special interest section of the Colorado Mountain Club dedicated to adults age 50 and older who want to stay active in the outdoors. With over 700 members, it is one of the most vibrant and welcoming outdoor communities for older adults in Colorado. The group proves that age is just a number when it comes to hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, and exploring the Rocky Mountains — and that the best adventures often come with decades of experience and wisdom.

What to Expect
The Over the Hill Gang organizes year-round outdoor and social activities tailored to the interests and abilities of adults 50+. Activities include hiking at all levels, cross-country and downhill skiing, snowshoeing, cycling, and nature walks, as well as social events like potlucks, holiday parties, and cultural outings. Trips are led by experienced volunteer leaders who understand the needs of older adults and create an inclusive, supportive atmosphere. The pace is flexible, and there is always a trip suited to your fitness level.

Who It’s For
Adults age 50 and older who love the outdoors and want to stay active while building friendships. All fitness levels are welcome — from casual walkers to experienced hikers.
