About the 988 Lifeline
The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (formerly the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline) is a national network of over 200 local crisis centers. In Arizona, calls are routed to local crisis centers staffed by trained counselors who understand Arizona-specific resources and services. The Lifeline has been providing crisis support since 2005 and transitioned to the easy-to-remember 988 number in July 2022.
