About This Group

NAMI Alaska offers free peer-led support groups for individuals living with mental health conditions and their family members across the state. Through NAMI Connection Recovery Support Groups and NAMI Family Support Groups, participants connect with others who understand their experiences in a safe, confidential environment. Whether you’re managing depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or any other mental health condition, NAMI Alaska provides community and hope.

What to Expect

NAMI Connection groups are led by trained peer facilitators who have lived experience with mental health conditions. Sessions last about 90 minutes and follow a structured format that encourages open sharing, mutual support, and recovery-focused discussion. NAMI Family Support Groups provide a separate space for family members and caregivers to share their experiences and learn strategies for supporting their loved ones. Both group types are welcoming to newcomers.
