About This Group
NAMI Augusta provides peer-led support groups for individuals living with mental health conditions and their family members in the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) of Georgia. The Connection Support Group meets regularly in Thomson, offering a structured, confidential environment where adults with mental health symptoms can share experiences, learn coping strategies, and find encouragement from peers who understand their challenges.
What to Expect
The NAMI Connection Support Group is facilitated by trained peer leaders who have personal experience with mental health conditions. Sessions follow the national NAMI Connection model, which emphasizes mutual support, shared experience, and hope for recovery. Meetings last approximately 90 minutes and provide a non-judgmental space for open discussion. Family Support Groups are also available for loved ones and caregivers. No registration or referral is needed.
