About This Group
NAMI Fairbanks offers free peer-led support groups for individuals living with mental health conditions and their family members in the Fairbanks and Interior Alaska area. Through NAMI Connection Recovery Support Groups (for individuals) and NAMI Family Support Groups (for loved ones), participants find understanding, practical strategies, and community with others who share their experiences.
What to Expect
NAMI Connection meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month from 6:00 to 7:30 PM, facilitated by trained peer leaders with lived mental health experience. NAMI Family Support Group meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday from 6:00 to 7:30 PM, providing a dedicated space for family members and caregivers. Both groups follow a structured, confidential format that encourages sharing and mutual support. Newcomers are always welcome.
About NAMI Fairbanks
NAMI Fairbanks is a local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness serving the Fairbanks North Star Borough and Interior Alaska. The chapter provides support groups, educational programs, and community outreach to reduce stigma and improve access to mental health services in the Fairbanks area.
