About This Group
Rocky Mountain Sibs (RMS) is Colorado’s chapter of the Sibling Leadership Network, dedicated to empowering siblings of individuals with disabilities. Growing up as a sibling of someone with autism or another disability comes with unique joys, challenges, and responsibilities that few people outside the family truly understand. Rocky Mountain Sibs creates an inclusive community where siblings can advocate for themselves, express their needs, and connect with others who share similar experiences.

What to Expect
Rocky Mountain Sibs organizes three major programs with events happening monthly and annually. Sibshops are supportive, energetic workshop-style events for kids ages 8–12 who have siblings with special needs, blending fun activities with honest conversation about what it’s like to have a brother or sister with a disability. Monthly social gatherings connect siblings of all ages across Colorado. The Allies in Leadership program empowers adult siblings to become advocates for systems change. All programs are peer-driven, strengths-based, and recognize that siblings have their own story worth telling.

Who It’s For
Siblings of individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, or special needs — from children (ages 8–12 for Sibshops) to adult siblings. The organization serves families across all of Colorado.
