Bereavement Support Groups - Arkansas Hospice - Free Statewide
The Arkansas Hospice Family of Care is committed to helping families find hope and healing through the challenges that come at life’s end — including grief support both before and after a death. Crucially, that support belongs to every Arkansan: services are available to anyone who would like to participate, free of charge, regardless of whether the loss was an Arkansas Hospice patient.
What to Expect
Arkansas Hospice Bereavement Services currently offers two monthly groups for adults: one via Zoom for grievers anywhere in the state, and an in-person lunch group for those who prefer connection around a table. The bereavement team recommends allowing yourself a few weeks following a loss before starting a support group — and offers individual bereavement support with bereavement staff in the meantime, so no one waits alone. The team will talk through your specific needs to find the right fit.
Who This Group Is For
Adults across Arkansas grieving a death. The Zoom group removes geography as a barrier for rural grievers; the lunch group offers in-person community. Neither requires any connection to Arkansas Hospice’s services.
Why Peer Support Works
Grief is experienced differently by each person, and it is a process that takes time — Arkansas Hospice builds its bereavement care around that truth. Monthly peer groups offer a sustainable rhythm of support for the long haul of mourning, while the option to begin with individual sessions honors grievers who aren’t ready for a group on day one.
