Cancer & Bereavement Groups - Cancer Pathways - Free Virtual, WA
Cancer Pathways, based on Seattle’s Capitol Hill, supports anyone experiencing the impacts of cancer — patients, parents, caregivers, family members, and those who are grieving. With more than 4,200 members served and facilitators bringing 25+ years of combined experience, its support groups have one price for everyone: free.
What to Expect
More than ten groups run on a regular calendar, all implemented virtually via Zoom (times in Pacific Time), with some groups also meeting in person at the Capitol Hill building. Offerings include a Bereavement group for those grieving a cancer loss, groups for Caregivers, Living with Cancer, Living with Advanced Cancer, a BIPOC support group, mindful art therapy, and the lighter-hearted Best Medicine gatherings. Every group is facilitated by a licensed mental health clinician (LICSW, LMHC, or LPC).
Who This Group Is For
Adults 18+ anywhere in Washington (and beyond, since groups are virtual) who are living with cancer, caring for someone who is, or grieving someone who died of cancer. The BIPOC group offers culturally grounded space for members of color navigating cancer’s impacts.
Why Peer Support Works
Cancer grief carries its own vocabulary — scans and treatment decisions, anticipatory grief, the strange guilt of relief. Sitting with others who share that vocabulary means less explaining and more healing. Clinician facilitation adds a layer of safety for heavy conversations, while the peer circle does what it always does best: proves you aren’t alone.
