About This Group
Diverse & Resilient is Wisconsin’s leading LGBTQ+ health and wellness organization, with offices in Milwaukee and Appleton. They provide peer support groups, mental health programming, and community-building events specifically designed for LGBTQ+ individuals across the state. Their Appleton location partners with NAMI Fox Valley to offer specialized LGBTQ+ mental health support groups for the northeastern Wisconsin community.
Groups Offered
- LGBTQ+ Peer Mental Health Support Group (Appleton): Weekly peer-led group in partnership with NAMI Fox Valley for LGBTQ+ adults navigating mental health challenges
- Room to Be You(th) Group: Safe space for LGBTQ+ youth to connect, share experiences, and build community
- Queer & Trans Social Group: Community-building group for queer and transgender adults focused on connection, wellness, and mutual support
- HIV/STI Prevention & Support: Education, testing, and support services for sexual health
Who Can Join
Open to all LGBTQ+ individuals in Wisconsin, with programming in both Milwaukee and Appleton. Youth groups serve teens and young adults; adult groups are 18+. All sexual orientations and gender identities welcome. Allies seeking to support the community can participate in educational programming.

Groups meet weekly at both locations. Appleton office: 211 E. Franklin St., Appleton, WI. Milwaukee office available for Milwaukee-area programming. Check the website for current schedules.

What to Expect
Groups are led by trained peer facilitators who are members of the LGBTQ+ community. The environment is affirming, inclusive, and judgment-free. Participants can share at their own comfort level. Programming addresses the unique stressors facing LGBTQ+ individuals including minority stress, coming out, family acceptance, and identity exploration.
Cost & Confidentiality
All support groups and programs are free. Confidentiality is strictly maintained, with particular sensitivity to the privacy needs of LGBTQ+ participants. Diverse & Resilient is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
