Free Children's Grief Support — Tampa | Suncoast Kids Place

Suncoast Kids Place is a Tampa Bay nonprofit offering free grief support to children, teens, and families who are grieving a death. Alongside ongoing peer support groups, Suncoast Kids Place hosts HALOS (a suicide-loss support group) and runs the free Camp Erin Tampa Bay weekend as part of Eluna’s national grief-camp network.

What to Expect
Families are matched into age-appropriate peer groups where children can express grief through conversation, play, and activity while caregivers meet in their own concurrent group. At Camp Erin Tampa Bay, kids and teens ages 6-17 attend a weekend that pairs grief education with traditional camp fun, guided by grief-support professionals and trained volunteers.

Who This Group Is For
This is for grieving children, teens, and their families across the Tampa Bay region — including those coping with a suicide loss through the HALOS group. Families sign up directly through Suncoast Kids Place.

Why Peer Support Works
Grieving kids often feel alone in their experience. Being surrounded by peers who understand — and by caring adults trained in children’s grief — reduces isolation, normalizes big feelings, and builds the coping skills that support healthy healing.

How to Join
All programs are free. Sign up through the Group Sign Up page, email info@suncoastkidsplace.org, or call 813-990-0216. Camp Erin applications typically open in December — varies, see https://www.suncoastkidsplace.org/.
