Greater Phoenix GA — Free Gambling Recovery Peer Group — Phoenix, AZ

If gambling is running your life, you are not alone — and free, judgment-free peer support is available throughout the Greater Phoenix area every single week. Greater Phoenix Gamblers Anonymous (GA) is a fellowship of men and women who have been where you are and who meet regularly to share their experience, strength, and hope. Whether you are just beginning to wonder if you have a gambling problem, or you have been fighting it for years, you are welcome exactly as you are.

What to Expect

Greater Phoenix GA hosts dozens of weekly meetings across Maricopa County — in Phoenix, Tempe, Scottsdale, Chandler, Glendale, East Mesa, Goodyear, Sun City, Queen Creek, and Gilbert — as well as online Zoom meetings you can join from anywhere in Arizona, including Spanish-language sessions. Meetings range from open topic and therapy formats to step-writing groups and newcomer orientations. Open meetings welcome gamblers and their partners and family members; closed meetings are reserved for people with a gambling problem. A dedicated Gam-Anon meeting runs alongside many GA meetings for spouses, family members, and close friends who have been affected by someone else’s gambling. No registration is required — you simply show up.

Who This Group Is For

Greater Phoenix GA is for any adult who believes they may have a gambling problem and who wants to stop. There are no requirements for membership other than a desire to quit gambling. Newcomers are welcomed warmly and introduced to the GA recovery program in special orientation sessions. Veterans of the program share what worked for them — not to lecture, but to connect. All forms of gambling are addressed: casino gambling, sports betting, online gambling, and more. The fellowship is non-clinical, peer-led, and non-judgmental.

Why Peer Support Works

Compulsive gambling is a recognized behavioral condition with serious consequences for finances, relationships, and mental health. The GA twelve-step model offers a structured path to recovery built on honest self-examination, accountability, and mutual support. For more than six decades, thousands of people have found lasting recovery through the fellowship — not because any professional told them exactly what to do, but because they found others who understood them from the inside. Sharing in a room with people who have been there reduces shame, builds hope, and reinforces the decision to stop gambling one day at a time.
