Free LGBTQ+ Peer Groups & Bereavement Support — South FL | Compass LGBTQ+
Compass LGBTQ+ Community Center has been a safe space and support system for South Florida’s LGBTQ+ community for more than 35 years — based in Lake Worth and serving Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade Counties. Compass runs free peer support groups, youth programming, transgender economic empowerment, bereavement and loss therapy groups, social events, and HIV/AIDS support for LGBTQ+ folks across the region.
What to Expect
Compass’s program lineup includes free LGBTQ+ youth groups, social groups for queer adults, bereavement and loss therapy groups, a transgender economic empowerment program, HIV/AIDS support, and ongoing community programming. The Center’s bereavement work serves LGBTQ+ community members grieving loss — including the death of a partner, family member, or chosen family — in peer support groups specifically for LGBTQ+ folks who have often been excluded from grief in mainstream spaces. Programs meet at the Lake Worth campus with some virtual options reaching Miami-area members.
