Free OCD & Anxiety Peer Group — Virtual GA | Liberating Counseling
Liberating Counseling Services, a Georgia-based counseling practice in Lawrenceville, runs a free Online/Virtual OCD and Anxiety Group open to anyone in the state of Georgia. Unlike a typical clinical intake, this weekly group is offered at no cost and with no obligation to enroll in any other paid service at the practice.
What to Expect
The group meets every Tuesday night from 6:00 to 7:00 PM ET over a secure teletherapy platform, and is led by a graduate counseling intern working under the direct clinical supervision of a licensed psychologist. Sessions draw on evidence-based approaches for OCD and anxiety — including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills — giving members both a place to share experiences and concrete, research-backed strategies to manage symptoms.
Who This Group Is For
This group is for anyone in Georgia managing OCD or anxiety who wants free, skills-based peer support without committing to individual therapy. It works well as a stand-alone resource or as an add-on alongside existing 1:1 treatment — there’s no requirement to be a client of Liberating Counseling to attend.
Why Peer Support Works
OCD in particular carries a lot of shame and misunderstanding — even well-meaning friends and family often don’t grasp the difference between intrusive thoughts and the compulsions used to manage them. Being in a group with others who understand that distinction firsthand, combined with structured skills training from someone supervised by a licensed clinician, offers a middle ground between a purely peer-run group and full individual treatment.
How to Join
The group is entirely free, with no obligation to pursue paid therapy at the practice. To join, call (770) 284-0906 or email intern@liberatingcounseling.com to get connected with the current facilitator and receive the teletherapy link.
