Free Kinship Caregiver Support Groups - Denver Metro | Catholic Charities
About This Group
The Kinship Caregiver Program at Catholic Charities of Denver supports caregivers of all cultural and faith backgrounds who are raising a relative’s children, often because of the death or illness of the biological parents, drug abuse, or incarceration. As Bilingual Kinship Program Manager Sarah Burgess puts it, “not everyone is looking for resources; they are just looking for support and a community of people who are in a similar experience.”
Ways to Find Support
The program offers monthly support groups in both English and Spanish, with childcare included, across five counties: Denver, Arapahoe, Jefferson, Adams, and Douglas. Beyond the support groups themselves, kinship families can also connect through family events held throughout the year, plus access short-term case management, special trainings, and connections with local agencies and caseworkers, all at no cost.
Who This Is For
Grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other relatives raising a family member’s children, in Denver, Arapahoe, Jefferson, Adams, or Douglas County.
