NAMI Hennepin County offers multiple specialized peer-led support groups in the Minneapolis area including Connection Support Groups, LGBTQIA+ specific groups, and Open Door Anxiety & Panic groups. With meetings several times per week in both online and hybrid formats, they provide some of the most accessible mental health peer support in the Twin Cities.
What to Expect
Connection Support Groups follow NAMI’s structured peer-led format for adults with any mental health condition. The LGBTQIA+ group provides an affirming space specifically designed for queer community members living with mental illness. The Anxiety & Panic group focuses on strategies for managing anxiety disorders. All groups are facilitated by trained peers with lived experience and follow evidence-based support models.

Connection Groups: Fridays 6:45 – 8:15 PM (online); 4th Friday hybrid
LGBTQIA+ Group: 2nd & 4th Saturday, 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Anxiety & Panic: 2nd & 4th Monday, 6:30 PM
