About This Group
NAMI Maui provides a free peer-led Connection Support Group for individuals living with mental health conditions on the island of Maui. Meeting monthly at the Teran James Young Foundation in Wailuku, the group offers a safe, confidential space for sharing experiences and building recovery skills through peer connection and mutual support.
What to Expect
The NAMI Connection Peer Support Group is facilitated by trained volunteers with personal experience navigating mental health challenges. Sessions follow the nationally recognized NAMI Connection model, which emphasizes shared experience, hope, and recovery. Meetings provide a non-judgmental environment where participants can discuss challenges, celebrate progress, and support one another. No registration is needed — simply show up to any meeting.
About NAMI Maui
NAMI Maui is the Maui County affiliate of NAMI Hawaii, serving the local community with peer support, education, and advocacy. The organization works to improve the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness on Maui, providing one of the few structured mental health peer support options on the island. NAMI Maui is part of the broader NAMI Hawaii network that serves all Hawaiian islands.
