Free Cri du Chat (5p-) Family Support - National | 5p- Society
About This Group
The 5p- Society (also called the Five P Minus Society) is the parent-run support organization for families of children and adults with 5p- syndrome, also known as Cri du Chat or Cat Cry syndrome, a chromosomal deletion disorder. Founded in 1986 by parents, it now supports more than 800 families with no paid staff, run entirely by volunteers.
Ways to Find Support
Family Support Services connects you with a Family Support Coordinator in your area for one-on-one guidance. The Society also runs an annual national meeting each August, a Sibling Connection pen pal program for brothers and sisters, and a Grandparents Angel Fund support group. Families connect year-round through a moderated Facebook group.
Who This Is For
Parents, caregivers, siblings, and grandparents of people with 5p- syndrome (Cri du Chat), anywhere in the U.S. including Colorado.
