Free Co-Anon Cocaine Family Peer Support — Nationwide

Co-Anon Family Groups is the 12-step peer fellowship for husbands, wives, partners, parents, relatives, and close friends of someone addicted to cocaine and other mind-altering substances. Co-Anon mirrors the structure of Cocaine Anonymous (the program for the person using) and offers loved ones a parallel path of recovery focused on their own wellbeing rather than the user’s behavior.

What to Expect

Hour-long confidential meetings built around the 12 Steps and 12 Traditions of Cocaine Anonymous. The program is spiritual but not religious. Members share their experience without giving advice or trying to fix the addict in their life — instead, the focus is on understanding addiction, releasing the obsession with controlling the user’s choices, and finding peace whether or not the user is in recovery.

Meeting Formats

In-person meetings in multiple US states including Arizona and elsewhere — the meeting directory at co-anon.org/meetings is updated regularly. International meetings including the United Kingdom. Online meetings via Zoom for members without local in-person options.

Who This Group Is For

Family members and friends of someone addicted to cocaine or other mind-altering substances — including crack, methamphetamine, prescription stimulants, and other substances commonly co-occurring with cocaine addiction. The addict does not have to be in recovery or attending Cocaine Anonymous for family members to attend Co-Anon.

Why Peer Support Works

Cocaine addiction often involves dramatic financial loss, infidelity, criminal involvement, and trauma that is specific in shape and difficult to share outside a community that understands. Co-Anon connects family members with peers who know what it is like to live with cocaine addiction in their household and gives them a structured program for their own healing.
