Free Disability Peer Support — Los Angeles, CA | DCRC

The Disability Community Resource Center (DCRC) is a Los Angeles 501(c)(3) nonprofit that helps people living with disabilities lead self-sufficient, productive lives through non-residential peer support and independent-living programs. For 50 years, DCRC has worked alongside people with developmental, hearing, learning, mobility, physical, psychiatric, substance-use, traumatic brain injury, and visual disabilities.

What to Expect

DCRC offers virtual and in-person support groups as part of its Independent Living Skills program, along with peer support built on the philosophy that people with disabilities are the experts on their own lives. Groups provide a welcoming space to share experiences, build community, and learn practical skills for navigating daily life, housing, assistive technology, and community resources.

Who This Group Is For

Programs are open to people of all ages living with any type of disability, from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. DCRC serves communities across West LA and the South Bay, including Culver City, Santa Monica, Inglewood, Torrance, West Hollywood, and surrounding areas.

Why Peer Support Works

Peer support connects people who share the lived experience of disability, reducing isolation and building confidence. Learning from others who have navigated similar barriers can be more empowering than advice alone, and it reinforces self-determination and full community participation.
