About This Group

GiGi’s Playhouse Denver, Colorado’s first Down Syndrome Achievement Center, opened in north Lakewood in October 2021 as part of the only network of its kind in the world. In the organization’s own words, every program is completely free of charge, powered by donations and a nearly all-volunteer workforce, so families can access what they need at no cost from prenatal diagnosis through adulthood.

What to Expect

Club GiGi’s is the social heart for teens and adults with Down syndrome: a hangout space for friendships, movie nights, karaoke, billiards, and arcade games. Around it sit structured free programs including GiGiFIT fitness classes, one-to-one literacy and math tutoring, LMNOP language development for babies, and a full adult track: GiGi Prep (10 weeks), GiGi University (15 weeks covering career, communication, and independence skills), GiGi’s Achievers, and career internships through GiGi Professional. Families can also use the space for open socialization during office hours.

Who This Is For

Individuals with Down syndrome of every age, from newborns to adults, plus their parents, siblings, and grandparents.

How to Join

Some programs are drop-in and some require registration through the My GiGi’s portal at gigisplayhouse.org/denver, where the current calendar and address are posted. The center is open weekdays with programs after school and on weekends. For more free options, see the Colorado support groups directory on My Therapy Groups.
