Grief Support Groups - Children's Bereavement Center - Free, South FL

The Children’s Bereavement Center (CBC) has supported grieving South Florida families for more than two decades, and its reach now extends well beyond Miami through free weekly online support groups. CBC’s promise is simple: no one should grieve alone, and no family should have to pay to find support.

What to Expect

CBC runs online groups every week — call 888-988-5438 to register — alongside in-person support groups currently meeting at The Children’s Village. Groups are organized by age and relationship, so children, teens, young adults, and caregivers each sit with true peers. CBC also offers dedicated free perinatal and infant loss grief support groups for mothers, fathers, and couples: an English-language group on Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. and a Spanish-language group on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m.

Who This Group Is For

Children, teens, young adults, and adults grieving a death — plus parents grieving a pregnancy or infant loss. Because the weekly groups meet online, families across Florida (and beyond) can participate, with bilingual support available in English and Spanish.

Why Peer Support Works

Grief can make a household quiet in all the wrong ways. Peer groups give each family member — the grieving child, the exhausted caregiver, the parent who lost a pregnancy — a room of people who simply understand. Age-matched and loss-matched groups normalize hard feelings, model coping, and rebuild the social connection that loss takes away. It’s why the peer model anchors children’s bereavement centers nationwide.

How to Join

All groups are free. Register by calling 888-988-5438 or through the registration links at childbereavement.org, where current group schedules are posted. Newcomers are welcome any week of the year.
