Light The Night 2026: Free Blood Cancer Walks in 100+ US Cities
About this event
Light The Night is the signature fundraising walk of Blood Cancer United, formerly known as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Across nearly 100 US and Canadian cities every fall, participants walk together carrying illuminated lanterns to honor survivors, support people in treatment, and remember loved ones lost to leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin disease, and myeloma. Funds raised support blood cancer research, free patient information services, and advocacy.
What to expect
Each city walk includes a survivor recognition ceremony, a non-competitive evening walk lit by lanterns, and a community celebration. Lanterns are color-coded: white for survivors, red for supporters, and gold in memory of loved ones lost to a blood cancer. Most walks are 1 to 2 miles on accessible paths.
Who this is for
Blood cancer patients and survivors, family members, caregivers, healthcare providers, and anyone moved to support the blood cancer community.
