About New Beginnings
New Beginnings is a Seattle-based domestic violence organization providing emergency shelter, transitional housing, counseling, support groups, legal advocacy, and a 24-hour help line for survivors of intimate partner violence and their children. For over four decades, New Beginnings has helped survivors achieve safety and independence through comprehensive, trauma-informed services delivered by licensed clinicians and trained advocates.
What Groups Are Offered?
New Beginnings offers therapeutic support groups for adult survivors of domestic violence facilitated by licensed counselors, children’s therapy groups for young witnesses of family violence, parenting support groups, and psychoeducational groups on topics such as safety planning, understanding abuse dynamics, healthy relationships, and economic empowerment. Individual counseling and case management complement group services.
Who Can Join?
Support services are available to anyone experiencing domestic violence, dating violence, or stalking in the Seattle/King County area. You do not need to be a shelter resident to access support groups and counseling. Services are provided regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, immigration status, or income. The 24-hour help line is available to anyone seeking information or support.
Meeting Schedule & Location
Support groups meet on regular weekly schedules at New Beginnings’ Seattle locations and community partner sites. Specific schedules and locations are provided during intake to protect participant safety. Virtual options may be available.
