SMART Recovery – Boise, ID
About This Group
SMART Recovery (Self-Management and Recovery Training) Boise offers a secular, science-based alternative to traditional 12-step recovery programs for individuals struggling with addiction. Meeting weekly, the group uses cognitive-behavioral and motivational approaches to help participants build motivation, cope with urges, manage thoughts and behaviors, and live a balanced life in recovery.
What to Expect
SMART Recovery meetings follow a structured format based on the 4-Point Program: Building and Maintaining Motivation, Coping with Urges, Managing Thoughts and Behaviors, and Living a Balanced Life. Facilitators guide participants through evidence-based exercises and open discussion. Unlike 12-step programs, SMART Recovery does not rely on spiritual concepts — it uses cognitive-behavioral tools and self-empowerment strategies. Meetings last approximately 90 minutes and welcome newcomers at any session.
