About This Group
Sober Outdoors is a nonprofit organization connecting sober and sober-curious individuals through nature-based experiences across Colorado and beyond. The organization understands that some of the most meaningful connections happen on a trail, around a campfire, or on the water — and that adventure doesn’t require alcohol. Sober Outdoors creates substance-free outdoor events that combine the healing power of nature with the strength of community, offering an alternative social scene for people who want to live fully without substances.

What to Expect
Sober Outdoors hosts a diverse calendar of Colorado events throughout the year, including group hikes at Red Rocks and Mount Falcon, stand-up paddleboarding at Boulder Reservoir and Clear Lake in Georgetown, camping trips at Great Sand Dunes National Park, sober meetups at Colorado festivals like Frozen Dead Guy Days and Bigfoot Days in Estes Park, and seasonal lakeside BBQs with music and lawn games. Events range from beginner-friendly to moderately challenging, and all are substance-free. The atmosphere is welcoming, inclusive, and built around genuine connection.

Who It’s For
Anyone who is sober, in recovery, sober-curious, or simply prefers substance-free social experiences. All ages, fitness levels, and backgrounds are welcome. You do not need to identify as being in recovery to participate.
