About This Group
Volunteers of America Northern Rockies (VOA) operates residential treatment centers and outpatient services across Wyoming, serving individuals and families struggling with substance use disorders. With locations in Sheridan, Cheyenne, Riverton, Laramie, Torrington, and Wheatland, VOA provides one of the most extensive addiction treatment networks in the state. Their CARF-accredited programs include specialized tracks for men, women, and women with young children.
Groups Offered
- Residential Treatment Groups: Structured therapeutic groups within residential treatment programs for men and women in addiction recovery
- Women’s Residential Program: Specialized treatment for women, including mothers who can bring young children into treatment with them
- Outpatient Treatment Groups: Group therapy for individuals maintaining recovery while living in the community
- Social Detoxification: Medically monitored detox services with group support during the withdrawal process

What to Expect
Treatment begins with a thorough assessment to determine the appropriate level of care. Residential programs provide structured daily schedules including group therapy, individual counseling, life skills training, and 12-step integration. The environment is supportive and recovery-focused. VOA’s White Bison certification ensures culturally responsive programming for Native American participants. Family involvement is encouraged.
Cost & Confidentiality
Accepts Medicaid, state substance use funding, and self-pay. No one is turned away for inability to pay. All services are confidential under HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2. VOA Northern Rockies is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
