Out of the Darkness Walk Tyler, TX 2026: Free Suicide Prevention Walk
About this event
The Out of the Darkness Community Walks are the signature fundraising event of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), held in more than 400 communities nationwide. The Tyler, Texas walk brings together people who have lost loved ones to suicide, suicide attempt survivors, mental health advocates, and community supporters to raise awareness and fund AFSP research, education, and survivor support programs.
What to expect
Walks include a brief ceremony recognizing survivors of suicide loss and attempt survivors, an honor bead distribution to symbolize each walker’s personal connection to the cause, a community walk, and on-site resources from local mental health partners. Walks are non-competitive and welcoming to all ages.
Who this is for
Suicide loss survivors, suicide attempt survivors, family members, friends, mental health professionals, faith communities, and anyone committed to suicide prevention.
