About Alcoholics Anonymous – Greater Seattle Intergroup
The Greater Seattle Intergroup of Alcoholics Anonymous coordinates over 1,600 weekly AA meetings across King County, making it one of the most active AA communities in the Pacific Northwest. AA is a worldwide fellowship where members share their experience, strength, and hope to help each other achieve and maintain sobriety through the twelve-step program. The Intergroup maintains meeting schedules, provides literature, and operates a helpline.
What Groups Are Offered?
The Seattle area hosts an extraordinary variety of AA meetings including open discussion, closed discussion, Big Book study, Twelve Step study, speaker meetings, newcomer meetings, young people’s meetings, women’s meetings, men’s meetings, LGBTQ+-welcoming meetings, and Spanish-language meetings. Meetings run from early morning through late evening, seven days a week, at locations throughout King County.
Who Can Join?
The only requirement for AA membership is a desire to stop drinking. Open meetings welcome anyone interested in learning about AA, while closed meetings are for those with a desire to stop drinking. There are no age, background, or other eligibility requirements.
