Free Peer Mental Health Support Jacksonville, FL | Here Tomorrow

Here Tomorrow of Jacksonville is a free, peer-led mental health support organization serving Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach, and the wider Jax metro. Founded in memory of Gary Kenney after his death by suicide, Here Tomorrow exists to remove the barriers that keep people from reaching mental health care — long waits, insurance hurdles, stigma, and the basic difficulty of finding someone who actually understands. Everything they offer is free, confidential, and centered on peer support specialists who bring their own lived experience to every conversation.

What to Expect

Here Tomorrow offers three intertwined types of support. Peer Support pairs you with a trained, non-clinical peer support specialist who stays with you for at least a year as you navigate your mental health journey — in-person, by video, or by phone. Support Groups include a weekly Teen Group (ages 13-17) led by teens with guidance from suicide prevention specialists, a weekly Military and First Responders group called “On Your 6” that meets in person or virtually in Neptune Beach, and a dedicated peer group for people who identify as part of the Black community. Funded Therapy can also be arranged at no cost when clinical care is the right next step. All entry points start with a free conversation — no insurance, no diagnosis, no waitlist.

Who This Group Is For

Anyone in the Jacksonville metro navigating mental health symptoms, suicidal ideation, grief, trauma, or simply needing a steady peer relationship through a hard season. Specialty groups serve teens, active military and veterans, first responders, and Black community members. Family and friends supporting someone are also welcomed and can be paired with their own peer support specialist.

Why Peer Support Works

Peer support specialists meet people where they actually are, without the intake forms and insurance gates that keep so many from clinical care. For people who have already cycled through traditional treatment — or who have never been able to start — a year-long relationship with someone who has lived through similar challenges can be the piece that finally moves things forward. Here Tomorrow’s funded therapy pathway also means clinical care is available when peer support points there as the right next step.
