Friends and Family Support Group- Depression Bipolar Support Alliance
About This Group
The Friends and Family Support Group from the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) is a free, peer-led group for the loved ones of people living with depression, bipolar disorder, or other mood disorders. Watching someone you care about struggle with a mood disorder can be confusing, exhausting, and isolating. This group provides a space where family members and friends can share their experiences, learn effective ways to support their loved ones, and take care of their own emotional well-being.
What to Expect
Meetings are peer-led by trained volunteer facilitators who understand what it’s like to support someone with a mood disorder. Sessions offer a supportive, nonjudgmental space for open discussion about the challenges and rewards of being a support person. Topics may include setting healthy boundaries, understanding mood disorder symptoms, navigating the mental health care system, and finding balance between supporting your loved one and caring for yourself. Drop-in attendance is welcome — no commitment required.
