Gamblers Anonymous Rhode Island – Gambling Recovery Support
About This Group
Gamblers Anonymous (GA) Rhode Island offers peer-led support meetings for individuals who wish to stop gambling. Following the 12-step recovery model, GA meetings provide a confidential fellowship where compulsive gamblers share their experience, strength, and hope with one another in order to solve their common problem and help others recover from a gambling addiction.
What to Expect
GA meetings follow the traditional 12-step format with sharing, readings from GA literature, and peer support. Meetings are completely anonymous and peer-facilitated — there are no therapists or counselors leading the groups. New members are welcomed warmly and can simply listen during their first few meetings. There is no obligation to speak, and the only requirement for membership is a desire to stop gambling.
