Pathways Trauma & Recovery Center — Domestic Violence Survivors Support Group (Portland, OR)

About This Group
The Domestic Violence Survivors Support Group at Pathways Trauma & Recovery Center is a confidential, clinician-led group for women who have experienced intimate partner violence — whether physical, emotional, psychological, sexual, or financial abuse. Pathways’ DV-specialized therapists provide a space where survivors can break the isolation of abuse, process their experiences, and rebuild their sense of safety, autonomy, and self-worth.

What to Expect
This ongoing group meets weekly for 90-minute sessions. The group integrates trauma-focused therapy, safety planning, psychoeducation about the dynamics of abusive relationships (power and control, trauma bonding, cycles of abuse), and interpersonal process work. Sessions help participants understand how abuse has affected their self-perception, relationships, and worldview, and develop practical tools for establishing safety, setting boundaries, and reclaiming their identity. Art therapy and somatic experiencing techniques are incorporated to address the ways trauma lives in the body.

Who It’s For
Women (18+) who have experienced domestic violence or intimate partner abuse in any form. Participants may be currently in the process of leaving, recently separated, or years removed from an abusive relationship. Safety screening is conducted during intake.
