Summit Behavioral Health Group — Teen Social Skills & Confidence Building (Austin, TX)

Summit Behavioral Health Group — Teen Social Skills & Confidence Building (Austin, TX)

About This Group
The Teen Social Skills & Confidence Building Group at Summit Behavioral Health Group helps adolescents develop the interpersonal skills, self-confidence, and emotional awareness they need to navigate the social world of middle and high school. Led by Summit’s teen-specialized therapists, this group uses role-play, experiential exercises, and guided discussion to help teens practice real-world social situations in a safe, supportive environment.

What to Expect
This group meets weekly on Wednesdays for 75-minute sessions. Each session targets a specific social skill or confidence-building theme, such as starting and maintaining conversations, reading social cues, managing conflict, standing up for yourself assertively, handling rejection and embarrassment, navigating social media pressures, and building genuine friendships. The group uses interactive activities, games, and role-play rather than lecture-style teaching, making sessions engaging and relevant for teens.

Who It’s For
Teens ages 13–17 who struggle with social anxiety, shyness, difficulty making friends, low self-confidence, or who are neurodivergent and want to build social skills in a supportive setting. Parent involvement includes periodic check-ins with the group therapist.
