About YWCA Resolve Family Abuse Program

The YWCA Resolve Family Abuse Program is Charleston’s comprehensive domestic violence service organization, providing 24/7 emergency shelter, a crisis hotline, individual and group counseling, legal advocacy, and support groups for survivors of domestic violence. Licensed counselors (LCSWs) and trained advocates deliver trauma-informed, survivor-centered services to help individuals and families escape violence and rebuild their lives.

What Groups Are Offered?

YWCA Resolve offers therapeutic support groups for adult survivors of domestic violence facilitated by licensed clinical social workers (LCSWs), psychoeducational groups on safety planning and healthy relationships, and individual counseling. The program provides comprehensive advocacy including court accompaniment, protective order assistance, and connection to housing, employment, and community resources.

Who Can Join?

Services are available to anyone experiencing domestic violence, dating violence, or stalking in the Kanawha Valley and surrounding areas. You do not need to be a shelter resident to access counseling and groups. Services are provided regardless of gender, age, or income.

Meeting Schedule & Location

Support groups and counseling are offered at the YWCA’s Charleston location at 1426 Kanawha Blvd. East. The 24/7 crisis hotline is always available. Specific group schedules are provided during intake.

All services are free. Strict confidentiality is maintained in accordance with state and federal law.
