Free Dementia Caregiver Support Groups in Orlando, FL | ADRC

The Alzheimer’s & Dementia Resource Center (ADRC) is an independent Central Florida nonprofit serving families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. ADRC offers free caregiver support groups, education, care consultations, and respite — all built around the realities of dementia caregiving in the Orlando metro and the surrounding counties. Groups meet in person across Central Florida and online via Zoom, giving caregivers flexible options for showing up consistently.

What to Expect

ADRC’s caregiver support groups gather small groups of family members on a confidential, peer-driven basis. Trained facilitators open each session with the group agreement, then invite members to share what’s happening for them that week — the recent diagnosis, the medication change, the difficult conversation with a sibling, the moment of letting go of an old routine. Group meetings typically run 60 to 90 minutes. ADRC also runs educational classes that cover the dementia journey from diagnosis through end-of-life care, plus one-on-one consultations for situation-specific guidance.

Who This Group Is For

Groups serve any family member or friend caring for someone with Alzheimer’s, vascular dementia, Lewy body dementia, frontotemporal dementia, or another form of cognitive decline. Members come from across Central Florida — Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Lake, Volusia, and surrounding counties. New caregivers, longtime caregivers, and those whose loved one has died from dementia are all welcome. ADRC also runs a dementia day program for the person living with dementia, which lets caregivers get a few hours of respite while their loved one is engaged in supervised activities.
