Free F.E.A.S.T. Family Peer Support — Eating Disorders & Body Image, Nationwide
F.E.A.S.T. (Families Empowered and Supporting Treatment) is the international nonprofit for parents, caregivers, and family members supporting a loved one through an eating disorder, body image distress, or related recovery. F.E.A.S.T.’s programs are free and aim to give caregivers the knowledge, peer connection, and confidence they need.
F.E.A.S.T. Online Forum
The Around the Dinner Table forum is a free moderated online community for parents and caregivers, staffed by experienced parent moderators who themselves supported a child through eating disorder recovery. The forum is one of the longest-running peer communities for eating disorder families and is searchable by topic — restrictive eating, binge eating, body image, treatment options, school re-entry, sibling impact, and more.
Private Facebook Community
F.E.A.S.T. operates a private, moderated Facebook group specifically for caregivers — focused on discussing caregiving issues, the science of eating disorders, and treatment navigation. Membership requires application to verify caregiver status and is granted at no cost.
Peer Mentorship Program
F.E.A.S.T.’s 8-week structured peer mentorship pairs experienced caregiver mentors with parents seeking support. Mentors are parents whose own loved one is well into recovery and who have completed F.E.A.S.T.’s mentor training. Pairs meet by video weekly for 8 weeks, covering caregiving skills, evidence-based treatment understanding, and emotional support for the caregiver. Free.
Who This Is For
Parents, grandparents, partners, siblings, and other family caregivers of someone — any age — with an eating disorder, body image distress, or eating-related concern. Caregivers anywhere in the recovery journey: pre-diagnosis, early treatment, sustained recovery, or relapse.
