NAMI Linn County offers free peer support groups for individuals living with mental health conditions and their families in the Cedar Rapids area. With both Connection groups and Family Support Groups meeting twice monthly, NAMI Linn County provides consistent, reliable mental health peer support in eastern Iowa.
What to Expect
NAMI Connection groups meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays at 6:00 PM, led by trained peer facilitators with lived mental health experience. Family Support Groups meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays at 6:00 PM for family members and caregivers. Both groups provide structured yet flexible discussion in a confidential, judgment-free environment. You’ll find others who truly understand what you’re going through and can share practical strategies for managing daily challenges.
About NAMI Linn County
NAMI Linn County is a grassroots affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, serving Cedar Rapids and surrounding communities. Their mission is to improve the lives of those affected by mental illness through support, education, and advocacy. They also offer educational programs and community outreach to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health conditions.
