About This Group
Safehouse Services is Cheyenne’s comprehensive domestic violence resource center, providing 24/7 crisis support, emergency shelter, counseling, and therapeutic support groups for survivors of domestic violence and their children. Their holistic approach addresses the emotional, practical, and legal needs of survivors, helping them move from crisis to safety to empowered independence. Healing arts programs add creative therapeutic modalities to traditional support.
Groups Offered
- Domestic Violence Support Group: Therapeutic group for adult survivors addressing trauma recovery, safety planning, healthy relationships, and self-advocacy
- Children’s Support Group: Age-appropriate therapeutic programming for children who have witnessed or experienced domestic violence
- Healing Arts Program: Creative therapeutic activities including art, writing, and movement as pathways to healing from trauma
- Court Advocacy & Safety Planning: Individual and group support for navigating the legal system and creating comprehensive safety plans
Who Can Join
Open to anyone in the Cheyenne and Laramie County area who has experienced domestic violence, intimate partner abuse, or family violence. All services are available regardless of gender, income, immigration status, or whether the individual has left the abusive situation.

What to Expect
All services begin with a confidential safety assessment. Support groups are facilitated by trained advocates and counselors in a trauma-informed environment. The Safehouse campus provides a secure setting where survivors can focus on healing. Children’s programming runs concurrently with adult groups when possible. The healing arts program offers unique creative outlets for processing trauma.

All services are free and strictly confidential. Safehouse maintains rigorous safety and confidentiality protocols. Communications are privileged under Wyoming’s domestic violence advocate confidentiality statute. Safehouse Services is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
