About This Group
The Southeastern Idaho Public Health (SIPH) Suicide Loss Support Group in Pocatello provides a safe, supportive space for individuals who have lost a loved one to suicide. Meeting monthly at the Marshall Public Library, the group brings together suicide loss survivors to share their experiences and grief with others who understand the unique and complex nature of bereavement after suicide.
What to Expect
The support group meets on the third Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 8:00 PM in the community room of the Marshall Public Library. Meetings provide a confidential, non-judgmental environment where participants can share their grief, ask questions, and find comfort from others who have experienced similar losses. The group addresses the unique aspects of suicide grief including feelings of guilt, stigma, confusion, and anger that often accompany suicide loss.
About the Suicide Loss Support Group
This support group is coordinated by Southeastern Idaho Public Health as part of the community’s suicide prevention and postvention efforts. The group recognizes that individuals bereaved by suicide face distinct challenges that differ from other forms of grief and provides specialized peer support to address these needs. The Pocatello Crisis Center also supports community members in acute crisis situations.
